For most students, traveling abroad is a rare opportunity. Most of us think that we will graduate, find a job, and build a career. However, international programs for students are experiences that are unlike any other and far more enriching than we initially might think.
Excited to know why? Suha from the Circle team summarises key points to quench your curiosity!

1. You get a taste of what studying abroad means

Many of you might have considered the idea of studying abroad. Indeed, this decision is a big one, and so are your doubts and confusions about it. An international program gives you a glimpse of what studying abroad means, and you can make an informed decision whether you want to pursue it in the long run.

2. You get to take in a new culture

When students arrive in their new host country, they are fascinated by the distinct cultural perspectives. You will find incredible new foods, customs and traditions. You will find that you have a better understanding and appreciation for the nation’s people and history, and the opportunity to witness a new way of life.

3. You expand your network globally

You make new friends, and it’s a wonderful thing to know you have friends beyond the borders of your country. It is important that as you build your career, you build a circle of mentors, contacts, and friends. All of the international programs will give you the opportunity to make international contacts that are not available through domestic experience.

4. You make your resume stand out

Participation in an international program will distinguish you from other graduates competing with you in the job market. Only a small percentage of students get the chance to participate, and even fewer get the chance to do an internship abroad. You return with a rich experience and sometimes, a new language skill.

5. You learn to live more independently

You might find that an international program brings out your independent nature. Being in a new place by yourself can be overwhelming, and it tests your ability to adapt to diverse situations, while being able to solve unforeseen issues. But, it adds some spice to your life by breaking the cycle of typical college life.

Participating in International programs is an amazing opportunity to inject some energy and excitement into your life, see new things, meet new people, and live a new routine.  Many programs offer you the chance to see what it means to manage those chores that a responsible adult deals with every day.

An international program could be just the change you need!
