Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Predoctoral Fellowships in Women’s History

Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship is offered to candidates with interest in women’s history and public history. It is open to any citizen. The candidates need to enroll in a Ph.D. program in the social science field at the time of application. They will be given part-time residency for one year at the New-York Historical Society. The stipend for the residency is $15,000 for that year. Since it is not a full-time position, they will not receive all the benefits.

NEH Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research 

NEH Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research is a fellowship program offered jointly by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission. This is for advanced social science research. The fellows work on modern Japanese society, their international relations, and political economy. This is a 6 to 12-month program with fellows receiving $5,000 every month upon selection.

Short-Term Research Fellowships

This is a short-term research opportunity for scholars in graduate-level or post-doctoral research. It is offered by the New York Public Library. The research is for 4 weeks. The researchers receive $1,000 each week as stipends. They must be the residence of the New York Public Library in this duration. The research must be in art, cultural studies, art history, performing arts, photography, and literature. This is open to any citizen. This fellowship gives opportunities to a lot of visiting scholars.

Predoctoral Fellowship in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

The doctoral fellowship is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.  This fellowship supports practitioners in behavioral health services. Students who are studying counseling and school psychology, or clinical psychology can prepare for this fellowship. However, at the time of application students must be enrolled in a full-time doctoral program. The fellows will receive financial support for 3 years along with travel and dissertation support. This is open to both U.S citizens and non-citizen nationals.

History of Science Fellowship

The History of Science Fellowship offers applications for both short-term and long-term research. The topics for research are- the history of technology, science, industry, and medicine. They take 20 fellows every year. The fellow’s work needs to be in the field of history of materials, chemistry, and related sciences. The stipend for short-term fellows is $3,000, dissertation fellows are $26,000 and postdoctoral fellows is $45,000.
