Eow Shiang Yen
Eow Shiang Yen is currently a PhD student in Community Nutrition at Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is active in a number of youth- and Buddhism- related civil society organisations. The leadership positions he undertakes include Country Ambassador (Malaysia) of Youth Opportunities, General Secretary of Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia, and Secretary of Unity, National Integration and Consumerism Special Committee, Malaysian Youth Council. Being a motivated individual, he likes to undertake new roles and tasks and enjoys the new exposure, learning gained, and people met from these experiences. Working with groups of people with different backgrounds is an eye-opening experience for him because it allows him to appreciate our differences more while building on the common goals. Besides, he strongly believes that the opportunities to meet new friends in life present a whole range of possibilities which he did not imagine previously. There is absolutely no telling that how far a new connection may bring us: more new people, more novel experience, and more unexpected journeys!
